CHAPTER 3

Taz heard an annoying sound nearby. He turned over in his sleep and decided to just ignore it.

*Poke*

Something had poked him in the side.
Taz brushed it away.
Suddenly he felt something blowing in his ear!
He sprang up and looked around wildly for whatever had disturbed his sleep; he saw nothing.
He was about to go back to sleep when he noticed a small brown furry head peaking out from a trunk of a tree.

It stepped out. Taz realized it was a Grizzly bear cub!

He stood up, he felt the fur on his neck begin to prickle, and he began to snarl.

“Who are you?!” he said angrily.
“Who am I? Who are you is the question!” he replied.
“What?”
“Your on my territory! Now get out!”
“Make me!” cried Taz, and with that, he lunged for the cub, aiming for the arm, so to pin him down.

The little cub skirted out of the way just in time and turned around and bopped Taz playfully on the head.

“Not bad, but not fast enough!!”
And he jumped towards Taz and grabbed for his arm.

Taz saw that move coming; he quickly defended himself and knocked the grizzly back.

“Don’t go easy on me!” warned Taz “because I wont!”

The cub chuckled and sprinted head long into Taz’s side, knocking the breath out of Taz briefly, but long enough for the cub to bite down on Taz’s scruff.
He’s fast! Thought Taz, as he struggled to get up.
…AND strong!

“ I won!” he exclaimed happily, “Now get out!” he said suddenly turning rough again
“NO!” said Taz

He wasn’t sure why he was so intent on staying, perhaps it was that he didn’t want to bow down to his opponent.

Taz gathered his energy and jumped up, throwing the cub off his back.
Taz sprinted over to him, and pinned him down.

“I ANSWER TO NO ONE!” he whispered violently into the cub’s ear.
“I didn’t think you’d be so strong!” he admitted.
Taz could see the fear in the grizzly’s eyes.
He grinned.

Taz began violently swatting, and beating the cub with his paws at the cub, who wriggled out from under him and managed to get out of rang of Taz’s flaying paws

His opponent stood up on his hind legs, and pushed Taz hard in the chest, causing Taz to lose his balance and walk back a few feet.

His back paw came to a slippery surface; Taz looked back and saw he was standing in mud, and then remembered he was still next to the flowing river!

He looked forward just in time to see to cub charging forward. But he had no time to react.

*CRASH*

Little white stars clouded Taz’s vision, he stumbled back again, and slipped.

“AAUGH!” cried Taz as the cold water surrounded him and pulled him downriver again.

The cub watched him in horror for a second then ran after him along the riverbank.

“Hang on!” he cried, and he ran ahead of Taz.

When Taz managed to look back, he saw the cub crawling onto a long limb overhanging the river. The cub crouched down and jumped high and hard, back onto the branch. It snapped and lowered a few feet.

Taz understood now what he was doing; the cub was going to use the branch to catch him.

Taz was slammed into the limb, but managed to stay still long enough for him to grab onto it, and pull himself along it to shore again...
in this chapter, Taz meets another cub, and they have a little battle!
then Taz falls back into the riverXD
