I really apologize for abandoning you guys for so long, truth is though, there is prolly only a half dozen people who actually read journals anymore, so I'm sure some people may actually go and check right now when my last update actually was... I'd rather you didn't look though.
So since I've been absent for so long, I'll fill you all in on what's been going on in my life since you last heard from me.
I just got back from my second vacation in Brazil with my boy friend of going on two years now. I was able to tag along with him and his family when they went to visit their extended family down there.
last year was 4 weeks in France,SP a really nice city, and not too big. I had a really rough time down there though because of the language barrier, but this year when I visited (6 weeks) I literally studied a dictionary, and now I can tell people what I want and carry on vaguely understandable conversations with locals. I also got to visit Belo Horizonte, which is like the 3rd biggest city in Brazil. some of the streets were literally at 45 degree angles! I got to go on top of the highest mountain in BH,and see the city lights at night. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL! you could even see neighboring cities. through the haze in the air the lights seemed to twinkle, giving the appearance that the city might have been on fire! It was a really great experience for me this year.
In terms of school, I have been attending the Washtenaw Community College, and I am one semester away from getting my associates in Animation (3d though, because they don't offer 2d) The great thing about community though is that its close and its CCHHHEEEEEAAAAP! I can afford to pay for all my tuition by just making minimum wage at the same place in retail I've been at for more than four years now, and still have spending money. (I guess though it helps that I'm still living at home...yay! free housing!) lol
As for after I get the degree, I have not yet decided on a school. I have been asking deviants here about some schools, and have made myself a decent sized list of schools to consider. but I hate how many numbers make up the price...why is 2d so expensive??
Oh, well. Anyway, I've decided to try to get some experience under my belt so I have been looking into local businesses that might hire me as an intern (paid, hopefully). And if that doesn't work out then it looks like I'd be writing a resume about why I would make a great custodian for the U of M...which I don't really want to do.
As far as art goes, I have been slowly scribbling new scribbles that I have been meaning to put up....It's just this damn wireless scanner that refuses to acknowledge my computer. Wires are more reliable. :[
I came across a Light box at the property disposition at U of M for only $15. solid (but nicked up) wood and frosted glass with adjustable lights. I've been meaning to go back any day now to see if it works still. I really want it. I have been really wanting to try to animate something worthwhile. Not silly flash doodles. they just don't come out clean enough. No matter what though...I'll still have to fix the relationship between my scanner and computer- who's screen got smashed and now i'm using a separate monitor until I can make an extra $400 to fix it. And I need to think about buying a car. (I wanna MUSTANG! but I lack the monies).
Other than all of that, my family is all in good health, which I am very thankful for. One of my sisters moved out to an apt five minutes down the road and my other sis is chillin at home at the moment, waiting for an acceptance letter from MI tech to earn her phD (I'm so proud!!). The dog is doing good too. still as independent as ever though
This week I am trying to mentally prepare myself for the oral surgeons to go in my mouth and smash my 3 wisdom teeth up and yank them out. The dentist's name is doctor FEAR 0_0; woohoo !!
yeah I signed up right away for the IV sedation over just a local anesthetic. NO WAY do I wanna be conscious for ANY of that nonsense.
I think that's it though. Thanks to everyone who cared what ive been doing these past three years enough to read this thing, I know it was a bookfull. sorry.
